Lacey And Charlie Interview
It's not exactly been a happy year for Stacey and Bradley, yet they won Best Couple at this year's Inside Soap Awards again....
CHARLIE: I know! I wasn't overly suprised, though, because people seem to love them as a couple. I wanted them to stay together, purely for the reason that I really enjoy working closely with Lacey.
LACEY: aww thanks, Charlie! I do like them as a couple too, but I think Stacey needs to go back to having a bit more oomph. I miss playing her as a wild child. Let's see her in shorter skirts, going out and getting drunk with her girly mates!
There won't be much chance of that if Callum has his way! What kind of reaction have you had from viewers this year?
LACEY: Well. people are still coming up to me and telling me not to go back to Max. I agree! I know there was obviously an attraction between the pair of them, but in my opinion their affair was just wrong!
CHARLIE: Fans don't actually come up to me to chat about storylines, they just shout at me. I can't really get my head round people wanting to dicuss Bradley and Stacey's relationship, because it's not real. I don't think I'll ever get used to it.
Have you had a chance to watch Eastenders yourselves this year?
LACEY: I don't normally get time to watch the show, because we work such long hours, but I have enjoyed seeing the Tony and Whitney storyline unfold. I know it's had mixed reviews, but I think Chris Coghill, who plays Tony, has done a geat job in sych a challenging role.
CHARLIE: I love watching any scenes which feature Jake Wood and Jo Joyner, who play Max and Tanya. They're brilliant. Jake's an amazing actor, and Jo is good at absolutely everything. She's so funny, and great to be around on set.
Are you two anything like your characters in real life?
LACEY: No way! I'm really different from Stacey, and wouldn't dare say the kind of things she does in the real world. Could you imagine it?
CHARLIE: I like to keep myself as far away from Bradley as possible. I'm certainly much better with women than poor Bradley is! My girlfriend also say that I'm nothing like him, which is a relief.
Will we be seeing you both stick around next year, then?
LACEY: Definitely! Eastenders is my complete dream job, and I hope Stacey will continue causing trouble in Walford for a long time yet.
CHARLIE: You never know what's going to happen next, so you can't let yourself get too excitied. But it's all been brilliant so far, so if it carries on like this, I'll be chuffed. I've had an absolutely amazing year!
